Yoga Class in aid of CRISIS - Wednesday 19th December 2018 18:30 to 20:00 - Laleham Village Hall - Fully booked - we raised £648.14 which will pay for 23 people to attend CRISIS for Christmas. see email from Crisis

Crisis is the national charity for single homeless people.  They are dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change. Their innovative education, employment, housing and well-being services address individual needs and help people transform their lives.  They are determined campaigners, working to prevent people becoming homeless, and advocating solutions informed by research and their direct experience.  They have ambitious plans for the future and are committed to help more people in more places across the UK. They know they won’t end homelessness overnight or on their own. But they take a lead, collaborate with others and, together, make change happen.

 

Crisis at Christmas

Crisis opens centres over the Christmas period every year. Their Christmas centres offer homeless and vulnerably-housed people across London (and other cities) companionship at a time of year which can be particularly lonely for those without a home or family. At these centres, the guests are provided with:

• A warm welcome and good company

• Three nutritious, hot meals daily, including a delicious Christmas dinner

• A bed for the night, if needed

• A chance to shower, freshen up and get clean clothes

• A health check and treatment from a doctor, optician and dentist

• Expert help with mental health and addiction problems

• Advice on housing, employment and benefits

• A way out of homelessness for good through Crisis’ year-round training, education and support.

As well as the many thousands of volunteers to staff the centres, money is needed to pay for goods and materials  (£28.18 per guest).  If you are interested in volunteering: Link to CRISIS.

 

The Yoga Class

This Yoga class will help raise the money required.  It will be held at Laleham Village Hall from 18:30 to 20:00 on Wednesday 19th December 2018 lead by Heather and Jean-Claude (obviously no normal classes that evening.  This will include a 15 minute relaxation, meditation and sound-bath.

Excluding hall rental, all proceeds will go to CRISIS.  Stop Press:  The hall is waiving its fee so ALL proceeds will go to CRISIS.  We are asking for a donation of £15 (more if you wish) for the class.  Normal class block booking fees do not apply to this class.

Entry by pre-paid booking only as space is limited.

 Afterwards we will go to the Three Horseshoes for a Christmas drink, so if you can't take part in the class please meet us there.
